Sunday Song + Prayer

Sunday, January 21, 2018

Happy Sunday, lovelies!

Sunday Song + Prayer gets me so pumped! The Lord put this on my heart months ago when He first planted the seed for She Takes Strides!

Music has always played a big part of my life and even more so with my faith! Music speaks into my heart in a way nothing else can!  It's so powerful, beautiful, inspiring and raw! It has a way to move us to our core and bring us face to face with God's truth and is such a powerful way to worship Him!

Sunday Song + Prayer was born from a desire and hope that you would have a song to carry with you through the week to point your heart back to God and fix your gaze upon Him. In the toughest days of my depression, the Lord would put specific songs in my heart to pour His truth and love upon me. My hope is that you will carry these songs with you to rejoice, rest and be renewed in who God is and what He is doing in your life!

This week I chose a song that I heard for the first time driving in my car just a few days ago that really convicted me. It spoke so purely into the season of life I am in and I just knew that it's a song that can meet us where we all are! I especially love the lyrics when Natalie sings:

You know more than anyone that my flesh is weak
And you know I'd give anything for a remedy
And I'll ask a thousand times to set me free today
Oh but even if you don't I pray
Help me want the Healer more than the healing
Help me want the Savior more than the saving
Help me want the Giver more than the giving
Oh help me want you Jesus more than anything

Aren't those words so powerful and so packed with truth? I don't know about you but that is the knew prayer of my heart! I simply want to want Jesus more than anything else. That no matter what this life brings I can truly sing that it is well with my soul!

PRAYER:

Father,

I pray that we would choose to rejoice in your name and who You are! Thank you for being all that we need and I pray our hearts would rest in that truth. We know our flesh is weak but you are strong. Help us to fix our gaze upon you. Help us to want you more than any healing, dream, or earthly thing we may desire, Lord, because you are our Rock and our foundation. May we find peace in knowing who you are and walk in confidence knowing you alone are enough. Build us up to want you, Jesus, more than anything.

In Christ's name ,

Amen
